Alternatives to a Linked In Profile

Linked In, as I've said over and over again is an excellent tool for social networking, job seeking events, basic job search, and for your resume to attract potential employers. Linked In is one of the big three social networking sites that employers look at to recruit or to finalize hiring a prospect. Linked In has extra search results in the Google search engine if you search yourself (which you should do from time to time to manage your online reputation), that profile will come up first under your name.

However, if you decide that Linked In is not for you, and CareerBuilder or Monster is not bringing you job leads, then use one or two of the alternative resume profile sites to add a small advantage to the job seeking competition.

Both services allow integration with E-mail and online job sites. If you use personal business cards, you can include the URL as part of your contact information. It's also an easy way to refer others including potential employers to view your resume online. You can also view your analytics of the number of views.

Now I would tell you which one you should use, but I'm not gonna. I just wanted to provide you with a couple of alternatives. Your assignment is to go to each site, and tell everyone else which one they should use.  Either use the comment space below or drop me an e-mail at markdyson@competitiveresumes.net. I'd really like to know your opinion.
